Solar panels sized around the power you use

We design every system from your electricity bills, not from how many panels fit on the roof — so you get the savings without paying for panels you don’t need.

Find out what solar
could save on your roof

Every system we design starts with your electricity usage rather than the size of your roof, so the first thing we need to know is a little about your home and how you use power. It’s a few questions, not an interrogation.

Solar Panel Installers
Why DW Solar

Why homeowners choose us for their solar panels

Most solar quotes start with how many panels will fit on your roof. Ours starts with your electricity bills. A system that exports most of what it generates is a worse investment than a smaller one you actually use, and we would rather tell you that than sell you the bigger number.

Sized from your usage data

We look at when and how much electricity you use before designing anything, and size the array to match.

Panels and inverters from established brands

Kit from manufacturers with a track record and UK support, so warranties mean something in year ten.

Electricians first

Neat cable runs, properly labelled isolators, and certification that survives scrutiny — because the people on your roof are qualified electricians.

One team, start to finish

The people who survey your roof install it, sign it off and look after it afterwards. No subcontractors, no handovers.

THE BENEFITS

What solar panels
do for your home

Lower electricity bills

Every unit you generate and use yourself is one you no longer buy from the grid.

Protection from price rises

The electricity your panels generate costs you nothing, however high tariffs go.

Ready for a battery

Store daytime generation and use it in the evening — as part of your install or as an upgrade later.

Cleaner energy at home

Reduce how much of your home runs on grid electricity generated from fossil fuels.

Built to last

Quality panels typically carry 25-year performance warranties and need very little maintenance.

Works on grey days

Panels generate from daylight, not just direct sun, so they produce all year round.

Free survey, written quote, no obligation.

Questions

Solar panel FAQs

The questions we’re asked most often on surveys. If yours isn’t here, ask us directly — we’d rather you had the full picture before deciding.

It depends on the size of the system, your roof, and whether you add a battery. We don’t publish a price list because a system sized to your usage can be very different from one sized to fill your roof.

The survey and written quote are free, and the quote itemises the panels, inverter, scaffolding and installation so you can compare it line by line with anyone else’s.

Most homes are done in one to two days once the scaffolding is up. Larger systems, complex roofs or anything involving a battery can take a little longer. We’ll give you a timeline with your quote.

Usually not. Solar panels on most houses in England fall under permitted development. The main exceptions are listed buildings, some conservation areas, and flats. We check this as part of the survey and will tell you if an application is needed.

Yes. Panels generate from daylight rather than direct sunshine, so they produce power all year round. Output is lower on grey winter days and highest in late spring and summer, and we account for that when we size your system.

Quality panels typically come with performance warranties of 25 years or more, and many keep working well beyond that. Inverters have a shorter life and usually need replacing once during the panels’ lifetime — we can handle that for you when the time comes.

Yes. If you’re not ready for a battery now, we’ll design the system so one can be added later without starting again. If you already know you want storage, fitting both at once is usually cheaper and less disruptive.

For almost every roof, yes — it’s the safe way to work at height. We arrange it, it’s included in your quote, and it normally goes up the day before installation and comes down shortly after.

You call us. The same team that installed your system looks after it afterwards, and we set up monitoring on your phone at handover so problems are often spotted before you notice them on your bill.
